Royce Gracie Grapple for the Cure
Royce Gracie Jiu-Jitsu of Fresno is proud to host our 2nd annual “Grapple for the
Cure.  Jiu-Jitsu tournament to benefit St. Jude Children’s Hospital on Saturday March
13, 2010. Last year we raised over $3,000 for this great charity, and we hope to beat
that mark this year!

This tournament features divisions for Pee-Wee’s age 3-6 (no submissions), Kids, Teens
and Adults. Juvenile divisions will be broken up as fairly as possible based on age,
weight, and experience. The adult (Gi) division will feature the following weight
classes: 125, 145, 165, 185, 205, 225, and 226+. Weigh ins are the day of the event,
without a Gi. Divisions will be held for white belt (5 minute matches) and blue belt (6
minute matches). No advantage points will be utilized, and ties will be settled by
sudden victory overtime. This is a single elimination event, but consolation matches
will be offered to all first round competitors that do not advance. We are also seeking
advanced competitors for superfight matches. (E-mail your info to
rgjjoffresno@yahoo.com).

In addition to the Gi tournament, we are also holding a No-Gi tournament in the cage.
Help us break our brand new toy in the right way! The rules for these unique matches
will be as follows: NO STRIKING, but MMA gloves must be worn for grip. 2, five minute
rounds scored on a “10 point must  system based on effective grappling, take downs,
and ring control (equally weighted). A third, sudden victory round will be held in case
of a tie. Same weight classes as the Gi tournament, but this will be an open division.
The goal of this event is to give competitors the taste of jiu-jitsu in a cage
environment!

The tournament will be held at the newly expanded Royce Gracie Jiu-Jitsu of Fresno. 393
W. Shaw #A6 (at Peach). Clovis, CA 93612

St. Jude is unlike any other pediatric treatment and research facility. Discoveries made
here have completely changed how the world treats children with cancer and other
catastrophic diseases. With research and patient care under one roof, St. Jude is where
some of today's most gifted researchers are able to do science more quickly.

St. Jude researchers are published and cited more often in high impact publications than
any other private pediatric oncology research institution in America. St. Jude is a
place where many doctors send some of their sickest patients and toughest cases. A place
where cutting-edge research and revolutionary discoveries happen every day. We've built
America's second-largest health-care charity so the science never stops.

All patients accepted for treatment at St. Jude are treated without regard to the
family's ability to pay.
